More from Dragon*Con, Michael Jackson
Okay, now before you get too excited… Michael Jackson is not going to be attending Dragon*Con this year. Honestly, I don’t see it happening ever. However this year Dragon*Con will be hosting a new event, a Guinness World Record attempt at the most people performing the dance made famous by Jackson in his video for “Thriller” at one time.

The event will be quite a feat to undertake, the popular YouTube sensation showing CPDRC inmates in the Philippines features over 1,500 orange jumpsuit wearing dancers all performing the famous dance. According to the Record Holders Republic the largest simultaneous performance included 4,179 participants from 10 different nations. However, Dragon*Con’s site dedicated to the event, Dragon*Con Thriller.com, claims that the record for Guinness is a mere 242. Whatever record we’re going for, I think the point is for as many stormtroopers, Klingons, zombies, and normal people like you to get together and have fun. More information on the event and the famous video can be found after the break.

Information on how to register for the event is on Dragon*Con Thriller.com. Registration is required, as well as attending at least one of the practice sessions scheduled throughout the weekend. As far as learning the dance, which is highly recommended for you to do prior to the convention, Thrill the World.com teaches the version that will be performed step by step. The version of the track that will be used for the dance is the 5:58 one. Be careful not to become too familiar with the shortened single edit. This video is over 13 minutes long, as it is the complete video which debuted in 1982. One of the first videos featured on MTV.
