Apparently, Feist has been around for a while. The Canadian indie rocker has been releasing albums since ’99 both solo and as a member of the Canadian supergroup Broken Social Scene. Unfortunately though, I had never heard of the girl until this song started finding it’s way through my head via the new iPod commercial. So I can’t be all cool and say like “Oh, well I listened to Feist before she was popular.”

However, I will be satisfied in the fact that I am enjoying her music now along with everyone else. Something about her voice brought me in, an action that is rare for me among music heard over mainstream media. In fact, I don’t think that has happened since KT Tunstall’s Eye to the Telescope (Buy it now!) was released. She has an almost Björk-ish sound, but more fun and less artsy.

The video is pretty interesting. It’s similar to the “Mad World” music video by Gary Jules that I posted a while back in that there is a large group of people running about all willy-nilly in a synchronized fashion. It’s fun. It does start to look a bit dangerous after the two minute mark, however… I imagine a number of actors were harmed in the making of this video.
