YSLAR Updates: July ’07

Hi! Just a post from your humble narrator here. I decided it may be a good idea to post an updating entry every month or two with the status of the actual blog, that is You Sound Like A Robot. I may end up doing this monthly… or bimonthly… or biweekly… or maybe never again. Most likely just whenever I feel like it though.

Seeing as this is the first real one, I guess I’ll start at the beginning. Wow! The blog’s been actively running for three months now, and going strong. My ideas for the blog have evolved since first beginning into what you see before you now. You may have noticed that my reviews have dwindled in recent weeks. Well, that’s because I’ve shifted my attention toward downloads, starting with the 40th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper. And boy, was that a good idea. It seems that most folks hitting the blog from Google are searching for downloads as opposed to my videos or reviews. While this is common sense, it took me a bit to realize it. Probably 65% of my hits are to the previously mentioned Sgt. Pepper mono download. Other popular Google hits are Voltaire, mc chris, and the Star Wars Gangsta Rap (which, by the way, is Jason Brannon and not Weird Al Yankovich, people! It doesn’t even sound like Al!).

I eventually incorporated Google Ads into the layout, as well as links to Amazon.com whom I’ve partnered with. That means if you buy something through Amazon, make sure you use my links! That gets me coin and coin gets you an improved blog! Also check out the Google Ads, those clicks will build up after a while too.
