MP3/FLAC: mc chris, “life’s a bitch and i’m her pimp”
Back in 2001 mc chris released his first album, life’s a bitch and i’m her pimp in a physical CD form. Shortly after, however, the disc was removed from the online store leaving only one very small run in existence. This was presumably for legal reasons seeing as the album’s most drawing track features the very copyrighted character Boba Fett. Still wanting this release to be available, mc chris chose to offer it for free digitally on his website. For a short time the liner notes were still offered on the online store for those who wanted to burn the album themselves.
There were two key differences in the impossible to find CD pressing and the digital version which was offered on mc chris.com for six years. Firstly, the CD pressing featured a bonus track called “robotdog” which would later be found on mc chris’ third album, eating’s not cheating. Secondly, the digital version was offered solely in a compressed 192kbps mp3 format.
The difference in this post and when I originally posted the album is that now I’m posting files ripped from an original CD in lossless FLAC format. I’m also including the mp3 files for those who still prefer the mp3 format.
