MP3: Mark Griskey, “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed”

The Force UnleashedSeasoned readers of You Sound Like A Robot know that I am a fan of video games. They should also know by now that I am quite the Star Wars nut. These seasoned readers may also be wondering where the heck I’ve been over the past few days. Well, I’ve been kept busy by a certain new Xbox 360 game called : The Force Unleashed. I noticed while I was playing that it had a pretty swell sounding original soundtrack.

After searching the lovely Amazon.com for a CD of Mark Griskey’s well-made arrangements of the classic soundtracks by John Williams, I was disappointed. No result on Amazon. And if Amazon dosen’t have it, it probably isn’t out to be had. One curious Google search later and I was happy to learn that the soundtrack is not only available, but it’s available online for free at TrackSounds.com!

As such, we’re bring it to you here too. Listen to all eleven tracks below…

The Force Unleashed is a multimedia project, similar to the ultimately awesome Shadows of the Empire from the mid-90’s. Not only is there a game for about every system and a free soundtrack online, but there’s a tie-in novel, a comic book, oodles of TFU themed toys, and more. You play the game as a young apprentice to Darth Vader named Starkiller between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, or episodes III and IV if you prefer. Your job is to aid Vader in the great Jedi purge and kill damn near everyone you see, as no one can know you exist. Even the Empire. So far, it’s quite awesome.

In the wii and ps2 versions, there is a really epic track that plays when fighting Darth Vader. Any chance you could upload that?

For The Force Unleashed? Not that I know of, unfortunately. You can get Star Wars sheet music from the movies at Sheet Music Plus, try searching “Star Wars” in the Sheet Music Plus search box on the right of this page. :-)

thank you so much, I’ve been trying to find a torrent or some way to download this for quite some time. I was disappointed to find that they didn’t sell it in stores or online.

Unfortunately, this is not the complete soundtrack. We need to file a petition to LucasArts and force them to sell us the soundtrack! Grrrrrrr!

Yeah, unfortunately this is the best out there. It would be nice to get a nice full release.

Cool. Thanks for posting this - I’ve been looking for this since the game came out with no luck until now. Lucas doesn’t normally miss out on a way to make a buck or two - I would have bought this soundtrack if it had been available. Oh well, his loss I guess.
    Thanks again.
