Picture from ctv.caIf you ever wondered why Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page is able to sing so fast, we may have just figured it out.

According to Yahoo! he and two women (Go Steven!) were found by Police in a Fayetteville, New York apartment with cocaine after finding a suspicious car out front with a door left open. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, which explains the lyric “Chickity China the Chinese Chicken, have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin’.”

Page was released on $10,000 bond and is due back in court tomorrow, July 17. According to bandmate Jim Creeggan they are “fighting the charges and hopefully they’ll just go away.”
