More from Ego Likeness, Hopeful Machines
You may know Steven Archer as the male half behind Ego Likeness, however he is not only an accomplished musician but an accomplished artist as well. A B.F.A. degree graduate, Archer has been making art for years. Many of his pieces can be purchased for affordable prices from the band’s LiveJournal… heck, I have a few of his pieces adorning my shelves.
Steven recently joined forces with Weird Tales Magazine in order to bring a new H.P. Lovecraft-based painting to the Cthulu-adoring public eye on a daily basis. A new piece of art by Archer will be posted on the Weird Tales Magazine site for the next year. Not a month, no, 30 paintings isn’t near enough for Steve. A years worth of posts lies ahead for the mad-man. That’s 365 paintings, kids.
Check back every day to see the latest Steve has come up with. And the coolest part is that every piece is available for purchase. That means that if you would like to own an awesome piece of art and support a sore-wristed artist/musician at the same time, it’s entirely possible now!
My favorite piece thus far is day three’s entry, “The Second Coming Was Not What We Expected” which is pictured above. Another great one, in my opinion at least, is day five’s “Let Me Show You” which I also chose to post an image of. And, heck, there’s another 358 days worth of posts to come.
Steve recently released a children’s book illustrated and written by him by the name of Luna Maris which can be purchased on Raw Dog Screaming Press and at shows. A promo video can be seen by following this link (with a soundtrack by his Hopeful Machines project, neat). Consider checking out Ego Likeness at Ego Likeness.com, they’re quite the awesome band. His wife and the female half of the band, Donna Lynch, also has a book in the works. Isabel Burning will also be a release by Raw Dog Screaming Press. It will be available in August of this year.
