NEWS: The Crüxshadows Keep On Keeping On…
Though it has been listed on IsoTank.com for weeks now with a release date of July 8, 2008, Rogue of The Crüxshadows has just today made an official post on the band’s MySpace, as well as many of their other websites including Crüxshadows.com, pertaining to the upcoming release of their latest single: “Immortal”. With the success of the previous two singles, “Sophia” and “Birthday”, hopes are high among fans that this single will peak on the American Billboard charts as well. A two and a half minute clip of the track was released today as well, synchronous with the news. You can hear it on any of The Crüxshadows’ sites or you can…

Playing on the single is the new lineup of the band, which was made public today. Most interesting of the announcements is the band’s decision to replace long-time violinist Rachel McDonnell with not one but two new violinists, giving the band it’s own miniature string section. The two musicians are named David Wood and Johanna Moresco, more information on each can be found on their bio page on Crüxshadows.com. It can already be noticed in the short clip of “Immortal” that Rachel’s signature sound isn’t present, and a new era has taken hold of the band. Seeing two violinists on stage with the band should be an interesting experience, however. I, for one, have high hopes for the band’s future.
Also new to the band is Sarah Kilgore, the new dancer taking Sarah Poulos‘ old position. The new guitarist taking over George Bikos‘ spot is Valerie Gentile, as I have mentioned before.
The full current lineup can be seen in this press shot, also released today. Pictured from left to right are Jen “Pyromantic” Jawidzik, Jessica Lackey, Johanna Moresco, David Wood, Rogue, Valerie Gentile, and Sarah Kilgore…
