More from George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, The Beatles
Alas we have reached the eleventh and final chapter of You Sound Like A Robot’s posting of The Beatles‘ classic animated series. These three episodes concluded the series’ three season run in 1967. Watch episodes thirty-seven through thirty-nine after the break.

As the episodes progressed closer to the series finale they became a bit more off the wall, likely inspired by the maturing of the band itself in its later years. These episodes are uploaded as they originally aired minus the advertisements. Each begins with a cartoon about a song from The Beatles’ discography, follows with two sing-a-longs, and ends with a second cartoon. Thanks to McCKLENN for sharing them online to begin with.

Episode thirty-seven begins with a short based on the song “Taxman”. The toon kicks off with The Beatles stocking bags of money to send off for taxes. When they are all knocked unconscious they dream about the days of Robin Hood, despite Paul McCartney’s insistence that “he never happened.” There are two sing-a-long features using the songs “Got To Get You Into My Life” as well as “Here, There And Everywhere”. Next up is the cartoon titled “Eleanor Rigby”. The gang happen upon some rotten children being mean to an old lady known as, well, Eleanor Rigby. Once the song begins and the band understands that the senior citizen is not actually a witch everything seems to work out.

The thirty-eighth episode kicks off when one of my personal favorites, “Tomorrow Never Knows”. In this trippy toon the four fall into a well and come out of another side, upside down. The other side of the well happens to be in the “inner world” inhabited by strange tribal people. The foreign talking folks are frightened by the fab four at first but once they kicked into one of their coolest songs everyone seemed okay. The two sing-a-longs feature “She Said She Said” and “Long Tall Sally”. Rounding out the episode is the short for “I’ve Just Seen A Face”. Ringo Starr seems to lose his singing voice in the midst of a recording session. Dr. John Lennon’s recommended treatment is a good trip through a haunted house to scare his voice back into him.

The final episode, number thirty-nine, begins with a short for “Wait”. This one involves a comb and tissue playing prince, his smoking girlfriend, and an evil prime minister. They are involved in a devious scam to rid the musically talented…ish prince of his woman. It is up to The Beatles to save the day and allow true love to prevail. The next sing-a-long features the tracks “Penny Lane” and “Eleanor Rigby”. The final cartoon short is based on the song “I’m Only Sleeping”. When John Lennon falls asleep while telling a story to children he dreams of a faraway castle. He, a troubadour, is volunteered by King Arthur and Merlin to aid in the slaying of a dragon. The art and all around look of this episode is pretty amazing. I think it is a great way to end the run.

There you have it. Thirty-nine episodes with two cartoons and two sing-a-longs each, meaning I have watched and written about seventy-eight toons. Cool. I wonder what I will do on my breaks at work now…
