More from George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, The Beatles
Finishing up the second season of The Beatles classic animated series, airing back in 1966, I bring you our ninth segment in our posting of the episodes. This round I will be including episodes thirty-one through thirty-three.

Each episode is as originally uploaded by McCKLENN over on YouTube. They are split into two separate videos for time purposes and they all follow the same pattern. The first portion includes a single animated cartoon based upon a track from The Beatles’ discography. Following this are two sing-a-long features and a second toon based on another track. Check out the three episodes after the break.
1 – 3 | 4 – 7 | 8 – 11 | 12 – 15 | 16 – 19 | 20 – 23
24 – 26 | 27 – 30 | 31 – 33 | 34 – 36 | 37 – 39
Episode thirty-one kicks off with a toon titled “I Call Your Name”. Ringo Starr adopts a pet frog name Bartholomew but is eventually coaxed into releasing it into a swamp by his bandmates. However, when a movie producer offers to sign a deal with the frog they set out on a desperate frog-hunt to retrieve the amphibian. In the two following sing-a-long features we get to hear the tracks “I Feel Fine” and “Wait”. The next short in the episode is based on the song “The Word”. The band finds themselves in Egypt this time. When they accidentally see the faces of a racially profiled Sheik’s harem girls their punishment is to be thrown to the crocodiles. Their only hope is to utter the secret word, “love”.

The thirty-second episode in the series begins with “All My Loving”. In this short The Beatles are in India. They find themselves in a harrowing position when they are forced to tame a tiger. How else would they tame a tiger other than playing one of their hit songs? The two tracks featured on the sing-a-longs this time around are “I’m Looking Through You” and “Nowhere Man”. In the next cartoon, “Day Tripper”, the gang encounter a female alien with stunning good looks. She easily convinces the four onto her flying saucer. The only catch is that she is actually an evil seventeen armed alien who drops the four off on a planet far from Earth. They, of course, break into song and entertain the locals. Luckily the fluffy pink critters know the secrets of space travel too and get The Beatles back to where they once belonged.

An animated short based on the single “Nowhere Man” starts off the thirty-third episode of the series, the final of which in the second season. In this toon The Beatles stumble upon an old cave while exploring. The cave is not empty, however, it is the home of an old estranged hermit. Decorations in his humble abode include rocks and a poster stating “Down with everybody!”. He tries to rid the boys from his cave but it doesn’t seem to work. The two sing-a-long tracks are “And I Love Her” and “Michelle”. It’s nice to be able to see that the lyrics in “Michelle” are not actually “someday monkey won’t play piano song, piano song” as they are often misinterpreted. In the final short of the episode “Paperback Writer” the four are challenged with writing a paperback about the story of their coming together as a band. A story of their meeting, as it were. The stories do not seem to intertwine, however. Ringo Starr’s story involves him as a theatre actor, Paul McCartney remembers himself as a scientist, George Harrison recalls being a dashing secret agent, and John Lennon recalls his days as a war pilot. Interesting story telling in this episode.
