More from George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, The Beatles
In this, our eighth run out of a total of eleven, episodes twenty-seven through thirty of The Beatles classic animated series are featured. These episodes kick off 1966′s season two.

The episodes are as they originally aired and split into two different videos. They also follow a similar pattern. Each begins with a short cartoon based upon a single track from The Beatles’ discography. Two sing-a-long features follow, the intros of which are now different than season one’s sing-a-long introductions. A second animated short rounds out each episode. A special thanks goes out to McCKLENN for uploading the whole series so that we can enjoy it!

Episode twenty-seven begins with a cartoon based on the track “Eight Days A Week”. A movie actor and kissing extraordinaire named Lips Lovelace finds himself in an awkward position when he loses his ability to kiss. Paul McCartney is quick to offer to take his place. Of course, the leading lady falls for him. The two tracks featured in the sing-a-long segments are “Run For Your Life” and “Girl”. In the second portion of the episode is a quirky toon for “I’m Looking Through You”. The gang find themselves in Egypt in a pyramid. In their exploration Ringo Starr encounters a ghost in need of a living body to switch with. The ghost finds Ringo to have “not much of” a body, but he hesitantly decides to switch places with him anyway.

In the twenty-eighth episode the first cartoon is titled “Help!”. Paul and Ringo happen upon a Paris fashion show. When the designs for the show are stolen it is up to the two to hunt down notorious thief Jaque Le Zipper… even if it takes them to the top of the Eiffel Tower. In the two sing-a-long features we get to hear the songs “The Night Before” and “Day Tripper”. In the next cartoon, “We Can Work It Out”, George Harrison becomes superstitious. When a swindler known as the Lucky Wizard, soothsayer to the stars, begins intentionally giving the band bad luck he tries to get himself hired to keep an eye out for them. They all end up in a crystal ball performing an epic rendition of “We Can Work It Out”.

Episode twenty-nine begins with a short for “I’m Down” where the gang finds themselves at a wine factory. When Ringo clumsily knocks over a vat containing a months supply of wine it is up to the band to help fill it back up. The catch? If it isn’t finished in two hours the factory will close down and leave many unemployed. The two sing-a-long features contain the songs “Eight Days A Week” and “Paperback Writer”. The next cartoon is based on the track “Run For Your Life”. If you’re familiar with that Sting song “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free”, well, this song is the complete opposite. While on a tour of the Palace of Versailles Ringo gets knocked out and begins to dream about the days of Marie Antoinette and her jealous husband Louis XVI. I remember once reading that John Lennon never really liked this song.

Episode number thirty begins with an cartoon based on one of my favorite tracks by The Beatles, “Drive My Car”. The band finds themselves at a car race. When a young man and his beat up jalopy are in need of help to impress a lady he insists upon assistance from The Beatles. They help him in his race, of course. The two songs featured in the sing-a-longs are “Yesterday” and “We Can Work It Out”. In the second cartoon “Tell Me What You See” they encounter “the man of a thousand faces”, a makeup enthusiast. When they fiddle around with his equipment and masks it is up to the master of disguise to teach the band a lesson. Hilarity ensues.
