In the seventh entry out of eleven of The Beatles classic animated series I’m including episodes twenty-four through twenty-six. These three episodes conclude the first season of the series, originally airing Saturday mornings on ABC back in 1966.

Each of the episodes are as they originally aired, minus commercials of course. They are split into two videos due to time constraints on YouTube. Each airing follows the same pattern: one animated short based on a song by The Beatles, two sing-a-long features, and a second cartoon. A special thanks goes out to McCKLENN for originally sharing the series online.

1 – 3 | 4 – 7 | 8 – 11 | 12 – 15 | 16 – 19 | 20 – 23
24 – 26 | 27 – 30 | 31 – 33 | 34 – 36 | 37 – 39

In the twenty-fourth episode The Beatles find themselves in Hollywood in the first cartoon based on “I Feel Fine”. Paul McCartney claims that everything in the city is a “phony”, however veteran actor Dick Dashing sets out to convince him otherwise. Following this there are two sing-a-long segments featuring the tracks “What You’re Doing” and “There’s A Place”. In the second cartoon for “Hold Me Tight” George Harrison and Ringo Starr take a tour of the Statue Of Liberty in New York, the other band members opting to stay in. Even in 1966 George seems to subscribe to post-9/11 paranoia when he notices a suspicious looking man holding a package. Obviously, it must be a bomb and he must be aiming to take down the entire statue. It’s up to the misfit drummer and guitarist to save the day!

Episode twenty-five beings with a cartoon titled “Please Please Me”. The Beatles find themselves in Madrid, Spain face to face with a mean bull named El Taco. What a clever name, eh? Well the gang accidentally knocks El Taco unconscious and must take the bull and matador’s places. The two sing-a-long tracks this time around are “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Rock And Roll Music”. In the second segment, “There’s A Place”, an ape character named Mr. Marvelous is introduced to the band. He is no ordinary ape, however, as he can solve complex problems such as 2+2 and how to spell Swahili. John Lennon feels sorry for the caged animal and releases it into the city.

The final episode of the first season, number twenty-six in the series, begins with a short for the song “Roll Over Beethoven”. In this toon the gang are in the process of leaving New York being chased by girls and what not when they encounter an “extraordinary musical elephant” appropriately named Beethoven. When the elephant develops a liking to Paul the band must play the title track in order to escape to a Liverpool bound ship. The two songs featured in the sing-a-longs are “I Feel Fine” and “She Loves You”. When The Beatles are mistaken for a string quartet in “Rock And Roll Music” they are invited to play at the Duke’s palace. When they realize that violins are not going to work out they bust out with their own tunes. The ritzy upperclass audience is taken aback at first but is eventually won over by the “Rock And Roll Music”.
