You know, I was just thinking to my self what my favorite new musical discovery of 2009 was. It didn’t take much time before I came to a conclusion. I Fight Dragons is an amazing NES rock band based out of Chicago with great sound and look.

Their debut EP Cool is Just a Number features a few great tracks including one of my personal favorites, “Money”. I had the opportunity to see the guys (and Laura!) rock out live on a few occasions last year. Both were definitely memorable experiences. Much of their music has been released on the band’s official mailing list. Jump on that for future releases on their official site. I’m including a couple tracks released from the list on here as well. Check out “Money”, “Don’t You?”, and a live cover of Rick Astley‘s immortal “Never Gonna Give You Up” (with a bit of Mario mixed in) after the break.
