February 26, 1932 - September 12, 2003Today is the birthday of one of the greatest musicians country music has ever had to offer, Johnny Cash. Mr. Cash would have been 76 years old today if he hadn’t of passed away about five years ago. Over his epic career Cash released a number of albums, hosted television shows, starred in movies… pretty much everything he could have done, he did. During his later years as a musician he signed with American Recordings to release five heart-felt albums, his best in my opinion.

This song is a cover of one of my favorite The Beatles songs, “In My Life”, which can originally be found on the classic Rubber Soul album. This cover version I am posting can be found on Johnny Cash’s fourth, and last prehumous, American release: American IV: The Man Comes Around. This was also his most successful release in his later years, housing the award-winning Nine Inch Nails cover “Hurt”. It is definitely a work of art, be sure to check it out!
