Do you like Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper, or Gogol Bordello? How would you like to see them in concert… in 3D… without having to travel and unload your wallet? Well I have some stuff for you.


Larger Than Life in 3D



The new concert movie Larger Than Life in 3D features the three acts performing sets in mind blowing 3D. Have you been to 3D movie lately? They don’t use those red and blue glasses anymore. The things they give you look like normal sunglasses but the film is still 3D. One of the miracles of science, I suppose. Well the film is only open in theaters for one week, starting today up until December 17. It is also a limited arrangement, so be sure to go to inconcert3D’s website to see if it’s playing near you. The people behind the film have offered up some free stuff and I think that they would like for you to have it.


Here’s the deal. I have three different sets to give. Each prize package will include one kickass T-shirt, a sweet looking poster, and a 3D lenticular* on a lanyard. Each package also comes with my appreciation for your taking the time out of your day to be given this free stuff by me. Check out the trailer for the movie and some cool stills from the shows as well as some mp3s from Dave Matthews Band and Gogol Bordello and a video of Ben Harper and his new band Relentless7 covering the David Bowie and Queen classic “Under Pressure” after the break. Oh, and be sure to enter the contest with the form provided. You are allowed one entry per day up until Christmas Eve, when you should be asleep anyway because Santa is on his way.

I was mostly curious as to what a lenticular image would look like after a run through the scanner. Unfortunately the nifty 3D effect does not transfer through the scanner and onto the internet. To simulate what the thing actually looks like try crossing your eyes and moving your monitor closer to your face. Oh, and there’s a black lanyard attached too.

There is also a poster included. It is not the theatrical one-sheet that you saw at the top of the entry, but a slightly smaller one. It’s pretty cool looking, trust me. I don’t have an image of it and it doesn’t fit in my scanner.





I actually have enjoyed Gogol Bordello’s music for a while now. Something about a mostly Eastern European based Gypsy Punk band caught my attention. Check out this mp3 from their latest studio album, Super Taranta! It is called “Wonderlust King”.



Ben Harper recently formed his backing band Relentless7. So far they have put out one album titled White Lies for Dark Times, however this video features them covering “Under Pressure”. It was recorded for Last Call with Carson Daly as part of a covers feature that they were running.

Dave Matthews Band released their latest album Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King earlier this year. This track, “Funny the Way It Is”, was the first single featured on the album. It has a pretty amusing video too if you care to look that up.
