You may have noticed from reading my blog that I like to line relevant songs up with significant holidays, anniversaries, and such. Sometimes, however, I really have to stretch to come up with reasons to post things. An example is this entry. Today is a Wednesday. It is the 13th of February.

Hey, wait, Wednesday 13 is the name of the singer for the band Murderdolls!

The Murderdolls are best described as, well, angry music. They enjoyed some moderate success in 2002, but the band went on “hiatus” in early 2004 and has not done anything together since. The different band members have been doing their own separate projects in the years since, Wednesday 13 releasing a number of albums under his own name. This single is a cover of Billy Idol’s hit “White Wedding” with a noticeably more horror punk/metal vocal track. The video is pretty amusing, however. It makes a mockery of the show American Idol, as it deserves to be mocked.

On a related note, Wednesday 13 actually lives in the same city as me and has, on more than a few occasions, actually come to and shopped at my workplace for recording equipment. So that’s neat.
