MP3: The Beatles, “Everyday Chemistry”

Now this is an interesting tale. Apparently, in a parallel dimension other than our own, The Beatles never broke up at the end of the 60′s. Even better, an anonymous fan managed to transcend the boundaries between our two dimensions and smuggle back some evidence in the form of a simple cassette tape. This tape is labeled simply “The Beatles – Everyday Chemistry” with a tracklisting added on the case liner. Could it actually be… an unreleased album from the Fab Four?

The Beatles

Upon listening… sure. It has to be. After all, the internet told me so over at Everyday Chemistry‘s website The Beatles Never Broke Up.com. It appears “James Richards”, as they choose to be known, was out with his dog in the canyons of California when he tripped and knocked himself unconscious. After waking up in a different universe and conversing with a guy named Jonas for a while he snatched the mysterious tape from a selection of many different albums unheard of in our world. He was then sent back to the desert where he had just left, a sensation “which felt like getting wet but staying dry the entire time.” Interesting. Listen to the album over at The Beatles Never Broke Up.com or download it on this entry after the break.

The Beatles Never Broke Up

No one is really sure when the album was released, but it is estimated to be somewhere around the late 70′s or early 80′s. If it was in the 80′s that would also imply that John Lennon was not killed at the same time as in our universe, if at all. This parallel universe thing is starting to sound pretty nice.

If you have any questions about the recording, go and check out the extensive story on the finding of the tape or the finder’s Frequently Asked Questions.

People getting angry over this reminds me of when I was in junior high and I got angry ’cause I found out that wrestling was phony, or when I was in high school and I got angry ’cause I found out that The Weekly World News was all lies. See, there was no need to get angry, but I just didn’t understand it at the time. Some of these commenters must have gone apeshit when they found out about The Easter Bunny.
