Valerie GentileRogue of The Crüxshadows has just released a number of important announcements on the band’s MySpace, read the full post here. The most critical announcements of the post are unfortunately a sad couple. Both George Bikos, guitarist, and Sarah Poulos, dancer, are resigning from active roles in the band. Rachel McDonnel, violin, recently left the band as well. Though notorious for band switching, the next live CXS show will have three new members.

The only replacement that has been announced so far is that of a guitarist, a Valerie Gentile, of NYC. Apparently a talented musician, she has worked with a handful of bands in the New York area. Not much is known yet about Val as her MySpace account is set to private and a Google search reveals very little about her. Hopefully, fans will have the opportunity to get to know her more online soon.

Rogue and JessicaAlso among the announcements were detail of Rogue and Jessica‘s wedding, which I’ve mention before. The event took place in Charleston, SC, far from their hometown of Tallahassee, FL, on December 29, 2007. Décor was based on the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. The wedding party included Steve and Donna of Ego Likeness, as well as a few other well known faces. Music through the wedding was arranged by a quartet of string instruments, playing selections from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Harry Potter, and more. A large gallery of high res images from the wedding have been posted here, so go and check those out. It look like it was a truly magical event.

Also wedding recently, former violinist Rachel posted a gallery of wedding pictures on her MySpace a couple weeks ago. You can check them out by following this link.

For those worried about the future of the band, don’t be. European shows have started being scheduled, starting in Mainz, Germany on July 1, 2008. They plan to tour Europe throughout the summer and come back stateside for a Fall tour. Dates are posted on the band’s MySpace for July, more dates will be added as they are confirmed.
