Winter-Een-Mas: Day 1 of 7

Happy Winter-Een-Mas, everybody!Today is the first day of Winter-Een-Mas ’08! What is this absurd holiday, the likes of which you have never heard before? Why, it was created by Ethan on a Ctrl+Alt+Del comic back in 2005 and has become an annual celebration since. The holiday is a week long celebration for video games and the gamers that play them. The entire month of January is “Winter-Een-Mas Season” though the holiday is technically just the last week of the month, January 25-31. To celebrate, I will be posting a video game related music video or download on each of the seven holy days… that is, inbetween my Xbox 360 time. ;-) The first slot is taken by an amazing video I saw just the other day, and this seems like a perfect opportunity to post it here. The University of California Marching Band‘s 2007 halftime show boasts music from a number of classic video games such as Tetris, PokĂ©mon, and Mario… all while doing their marching band thing with mind-blowing precision. I was a proud member of the Murphy High School marching band, and our band was honestly one of (really, the, but I don’t want to bring up old rivalries) best in the area. I just wish our band director had this idea first… darn you, Mr. Chapman!
