The guest list for this year’s Dragon*Con grows all the more impressive with the announcement of the legendary William Shatner. Like his friend Leonard Nimoy, he will probably not be doing any musical performances at the convention. However everyone should see this video at least once.

William Shatner

I know you know who William Shatner is. He is most famous for portraying the early captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, James Tiberius Kirk. Since his role on Star Trek he has become an established author and musician as well as continuing in the acting field on classic shows such as Boston Legal and T.J. Hooker. Oh, and the Priceline commercials. The video after the break features Shatner’s famous rendition of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” at the 1978 Science Fiction Film Awards.

Unfortunately William Shatner will only be in attendance at the convention on Friday and Saturday, so be sure to go early if you’d like to meet him. Also, be prepared for a line. Check out some of his other music above on Amazon MP3. From his classic album The Transformed Man up to the recent Ben Folds produced Has Been, he is definately a unique musician. Check out the collaboration between Shatner and Leonard Nimoy called Spaced Out. It has a great selection of music from both of the legendary performers. I’ve bought all of them and you should too!
