The Chicago-based band I Fight Dragons will be performing at Dragon*Con this year. Actually a pretty unique band, I Fight Dragons claims the genre “NES-rock” which basically means pop rock with a heavy influence drawn from classic Nintendo culture.

I Fight Dragons

Wielding a load of synthesizers controlled by classic NES controllers and a Dance Dance Revolution pad in addition to their guitar, bass, drums, and dual vocals I Fight Dragons is a powerhouse on stage. Their debut EP, Cool is Just a Number, is currently available. They are also featured on the new Weezer tribute disc which has been floating around the internet since last month, Weezer – The 8-bit Album. You can download the full album through Pterodactyl Squad’s website for free. I plucked the I Fight Dragons track, a cover of Weezer’s “Why Bother?”, for your listening pleasure. Check it out after the break.
